  • Accounting Associate - NYC (Remote)

    Your Role

    • Support new client account onboarding and configure client accounting systems

    • Manage accounts payable and receivable and day to day client/vendor questions

    • Support month-end accounting functions, including payroll, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger

    • Track and manage reconciliation schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities/expenses, and deferred revenue

    • Manage cost of goods sold, inventory demand planning, and assist clients with ad-hoc pricing/margin analysis

    • Prepare and assist with tax filings for W2s/1099s and sales tax

    • Support the Controller in preparing financial reports and analysis for client leadership and coordinating work with external partners and investors

    • Model best practices in all areas of the accounting and financial process in accordance with GAAP; collaborating with team members to analyze and streamline processes both internally and externally

    • Develop client relationships through providing timely support and guidance in regularly scheduled client check-ins and day to day communication

    • Manage retail operational accounting including, issuing invoices, reconciling discounts and chargebacks, collecting deposits, and matching accounts receivables

    You Should

    • Have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and problem & trend identification skills

    • Be extremely well organized, with attention to accuracy and detail

    • Demonstrate strong judgment and independence on prioritizing competing deadlines and client needs

    • Effectively communicate (written and verbal) financial concepts for an audience of varying financial understanding

    Your Qualifications

    • 1-2 years of relevant accounting and finance experience (Big 5 accounting firm auditing, corporate accounting, or general accounting), some start-up experience preferred but not required

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or professional certifications (e.g. CMA or CPA) preferred but not required

    • Experience with inventory accounting, preferably within consumer product goods; retail industry experience is a plus

    The salary for this position is $55,000-65,000 DOE, and our benefits package includes: healthcare, dental, and vision insurance that is fully subsidized for you and your spouse, a 401(k) with a 100% match on the first 5%, 11 company holidays, and 15 days of additional paid time off.
